Updating Need for speed Porsche Unleashed

Hi,

Does anyone know how to update Need for speed Porsche Unleashed to play online games? I have registered with EAonline, but every time I try to play online, the game tells me there is a newer version available of 3332.8 KB, would I like to download it now? I click yes, and the programme exits.

Electronic Arts Game Updater does not work, and I found no information on it in the manual or on the Need For Speed website.

Just sounds like a patch to me, download that from the website on it's own, install it then run the game again. Dont use the 'updater'.

Just been reading on another website that you can't actually just download the patch like how I said, you have to use that updater thing. This guy wrote that it took him 3-4 attempts to get it downloaded and installed, he said if it fails to install then just quit the game and try again. Also make sure you have no firewall software blocking access to the internet for the updater.
