It is based on older BBS games. Mainly TradeWars I think.

The object is to get the highest score and there are many way to score. There are four main strategies: The Trader , The Builder ,The Banker , and The Conqueror .

There is even team play where the team builds a score also.


The game is still in development but is very playable and I want to help develop some of it. I am first working on a help module because it is hard to get started, but there is a lot to it once you understand the basics.

My description of Black Nova would be a fun, free turn-based game based on conquest of the universe. The object of the game can be whatever you want it to be, it CAN be to have the highest score, but it can also be to dominate the most planets, to kill the most players, etc. My personal favorite part is ship to ship combat, where you actually take on another person's ship (and/or planet).

It takes a little effort to get started, because the help files aren't very good yet, but if you read the FAQ it's very helpful.

Oh yeah, another fun part is alliances, you can group up with other people to join the alliance war. Currently the two main alliances are the Bone Crushing Alliance (led by me, we are in first place), and the Lair Alliance (led by Trade, the second most powerful alliance). Things are currently heating up, and it get you really involved.

All in all, the game is free and lots of fun. What is there to lose? :)

And I gotta say, if you've ever played Planetarion, it's a bit like this, but I reckon this is a fair bit better! :D

Yes this game is better than Planetrion and Earth 2025. i signed up for Earth 2025, but then i later stopped playing bcos its real boring, infact i played only for the 1st day. i would prefer BLACKNOVA.
