How many MP3's has everyone got?

the most I ever had was about 180 something but then they all disappeared when I had to format my hard drive, right now I have a disgraceful amount of 5 :cry:

1. Nil By Mouth by a Kickass New Zealand Metal Band called "Blindspott"
2. Chop Suey by System of a Down
3. Bodies by Drowning Pool
4. Back to the Primitive by Soulfly
5. This is a Test from WWF the Music Volume 4 (Test's Theme Music)

yeah thats it :( but I plan on getting a whole heap more :upto:

I had 500 before I had to reformat at the start of the year too.

I have around 30 on my own pc,it has taken 2 weeks to download them.On my brother in laws pc I have around 70 which took 2 days to download on his broadband connection.:(

Eh? What do you mean by legit? Do you mean does he really have them?

I've donwloaded around 1.7gig from Audiogalaxy and only managed to upload 300-400mb :)

You could just move the mp3s out of your shared directory :D

Partition magic lets you seperate your hard dirve into different erm drives. Different sections. You could make a new partition justfor mp3s which would be your f: drive. Or if you wanted to dual boot Linux with WIndows you'd have windows on one partition and then linux will have it's own partitions.

Yep, and DAMN handy it is! I've got every important things (like wondows, programms and school-stuff on C:\ and all the other (like music, games, crap) on D:\ it'll help ya out BIG time on re-installing your PC!

I have a grand total of ZERO MP3s, and I am proud of it!

What I tend to do is go to my local CD retailer and hand over hard-earned cash in exchange for a CD that will live amongst my 400 other CDs and get an airing from time to time. I have done away with the worry of accidentally wiping my music library simply by purchasing the music I enjoy in a form that is difficult to damage and/or destroy.

What I'm saying is that I cannot be arsed with MP3 or the fake hype surrounding the format.

I try to buy the albums if I really like the band and I never download whole albums. It's hard to get the albums you want here unless you want Steps and S Club 7.

Well, people seem to sing the praises of mp3, but I use good old wma if I need to compress audio. For any given data rate I reckon wma offers better quality, with less audible artifacts. In fact at a data rate of 128, I can barely tell the difference from the source. Not the case with mp3 however, although the 'badness' of the compression seems to vary with the software used to perform it.
I do understand the attraction of mp3 though, simply that that is the format used on the web. Smells slightly like the VHS/Betamax battle - the best lost there as well!:p

Has anyone on here actually ever heard of WMA? I don't understand why MP3 is used and not WMA, with WMA you can have the same quality for a lower file size, or higher quality for the same file size.....I think :D
