Can you still play dvds on the ps2 even though you don't have the remote.

Jep!, I saw my friends doing it. If you do, you just use the PS2-DualShock controller to set up all options and fast-forward and all the normal Video stuff.
Well, at least that's what I saw, maybe they hid a remote somewhere.......:D

ATTENTION:

Try not to use the DVD player too often, it knackers up the console. I was told by a friend, did'nt believe him, then over my mates house, the console wouldn't play dvds as well as games that are dvd based e.g. GT3. Should'nt be a problem if they will take the consoles back.

i think if u use that dvd upgrade disc, it works better, but not 100% sure

saying that, my m8 used his dvd player 3 times a day for films. Plus he eats sleeps and dreams the PS2. He hardly ever goes out.
