I will be severly disapointed if there is no chainsaw in the next GTA. The weapons aray was quite impressive in vice city but the novilty wore off quickly. Any ideas on how they are going to keep it fresh?

Mmm, a spiked bat would be a good addition,I'd personally like to see a meat cleaver, bow and arrows would be cool as anything, maybe some nun-chaks (sp) or a mobile scud launcher complete with camera tipped warhead for navigation in a first-person view.

Point one, this game has not been milked in the sort of fashion that it really could have been. Infact the people involved with this game at every level have recognised that the game needs time out and have decided by there own admission it needs to rest, hence it coming out at the end of next year dude.They could have made one for xmas time easily and everyone would have lapped it up. I mean it's not like you turn around every six months and there is another sequel. For the lifespan of the ps2 there has been two games and a special edition combo pack. Hardly taking the p!$$ is it? They have also ported it to p.c and x-box. WOW what a crime:D By the time the next game comes out everyone will be chomping at the bit as it will have been ages since the last game, nearly two years infact.


If you want to bash about sequels have a go at the masters of taking the p!$$ out of gamers. E.(tw@tface)A. I hate E.A. They take the rip royally. Expansion pack after expansion pack, crap licenced game after game, sequel upon nausiating sequel every single year without relent. Nearly every game they make has an expansion pack. Yet people still buy them and E.A innovate less, franchise more, and in turn they pump out the same games with different graphics and a new number on the end.

Well actually of all the games that have had sequels I have to say that GTA VC is probably the only one that actually listened to what the players of GTA3 wanted and then made efforts to include the requests in VC. Chances are if GTA4 turns out to be much like GTA3 and GTA VC its because the players of those two games wanted it to be.

As for True crimes branching story line. Can we say pointless? Yes it was attempt at preventing you from playing the same level twice but at the end of the day how many people when they failed a mission went back and played it again just so they could see the decent ending?

Instead of a branching system I would like to see the stories from GTA3 and GTA VC linked toghether, fill in the gaps that were missing.

Rockstar have already confirmed that their will be no multiplayer option avaliable in this GTA game, the delay isn't due to any coding issues, it is more due to a suspected marketing issue with the game.

The no load screen is not a hugely difficult thing to achieve.

The old GTA games used to load the major core code in to the memory at the start and then load sub-code (stuff like geographic data) at the load screens. GTA 3 didn't take so long to load initially because it had 2 load screen locations from a point to point journey across Liberty City, GTA VC had a longer loading time because it required more data to be loaded. The benefit was a larger city than in GTA 3 with only a single load screen on the across city journey.

GTA SA is supposedly massive compared to the last two games both in physical size and the amount of data that is being used (better graphics, etc) so the option avaliable where either, lots of loading screens, less loading screens but a much longer intial game load or the final option and one that has been around since the early driver days, disc scrolling.

This basically means preloading data directly from the disc whilst the game is being played, it means that you do not require load screens and has been used in Driver, Driver 2 and Driver 3, True Crimes and I believe the WRC games.

the 2 player mode is 100% true, i played it a couple of days ago with my brother in law, it's nothing great though caus all u can do basically is go about beating people up, can't do any missions and when in 2p mode the camera has to zoom far away when the players drift apart which sucks really, split screen would have been better.

for me this game is not upto much at the minute, it seems very disjointed mission wise, the city is just ugly and boring to drive round, vehicles are pathetic really, they slide a lot more now and seem 50% slower. when you do get some speed up the screen blurs and it makes it harder to see where you are going, when u need to brake. it may get better in later missions, the only thing i am doing on it now is finding all the tag locations which is bound to unlock something more interesting than what there is now.

Ummm I thought the cameo was quite good, listen to what Catalina tells you during and after the missions, the stuff about what she does to her lovers and the fact she likes to kill and beat them. Then apply this to what happens in GTA3, remember she shoots him right at the start, plus being set before GTA3 it kind of tells you why she went to Liberty City. It just adds a little to the overall GTA story.

Talmon there is a chainsaw in GTA SanAndreas you have to use a cheat to get it this is the cheat: during the game press R1,R2,L1,R2.LEFT,DOWN,RIGHT,UP,LEFT,DOWN,DOWN,LEFT ! The Air Raid mission isn't that hard although I agree that the controls for the airplane are somewhat sensitive. The easiest way to complete the mission is not to shoot the vans from the air. Instead land in front of the trucks and then move the aircraft around on the ground and shoot the van. It's far simpler and far quicker, plus the guys in the vans will get out once you start shooting them so if you kill them you don;t even have to bother with blowing the vans up.

This doesn't work for shooting the guys on bikes though but they aren't that difficult to kill anyways.

I assume you meant plane. Yep, very easy to damage. I tried to taxi one along the runway, it hit a pole, spun around it and blew up.

Righty, so why is the mission annoying as hell? Well, turning is a bitch. That's pretty much it.
Oh, and one one lesson you have to turn the plane in the air, land it and taxi it into a glowing area. The landing isn't difficult, but afterwards the plane inexplicably veered to the right, off the runway and I had to do the entire thing again.
Still, there are only a few plane lessons.

Oddly, helicopters are much harder to fly in this game than Vice City.

Well, the first time I nabbed one it was all over the place. I wonder if having the Pilot's licence makes any difference...

Remember the Sea Sparrow mission on Vice City? As soon as it was over, the plane became much easier to handle. Perhaps it's the same here.
Also, now I don't have to turn all the time, I quite like planes. A pity I can't find a parachute.

Planes get easier the more you fly them and devlop your skills, as for aircraft veering without explanation have you noticed the game takes account of wind speed and direction and the effect it has on the aircraft. Finally the only major difference between the controls for helicopters in GTA SA and GTA VC is the self centering. The aircraft in GTA SA do not return to stable and level flight when you let go of the controls, you have to stabalise them yourself, in GTA VC they did.

At a low altitude, yes - but I always thought I pressed the wrong button.
Also when finishing one of Toreno's missions, it opened but I couldn't pull back, so CJ just shot into the ground and died.

Don't cross the white line illegally in the game. I was able to break into the Los Santos International Airport and jack the Dodo. LOL I was flying it and ended up getting a 4 star wanted level for no reason. The next thing I know a few jets shot me down...LOL All this because I snuck into the other cities without opening them up legally...LOL

Has anyone else had the same problem as me? I've completed all the missions in the first city - which should open up the Family mission (and after that open up the next area), but it's just not giving me anywhere to go to start the next mission. I've now spent the best part of four days just going round tagging things, getting the oysters, gaining territory etc, but would love to get through more of the game. :mad: The only person I can go and see who gives me a 'mission' is the guy who takes you on a lowrider race. Do I need to win one of those before I can continue?

Yeah you do. It's easy, you should have put nitros on your low rider that you got from the mod guy. and kept it in your garage.

Hmm, thanks for that. I've only tried to do this one about 20 times - even with the nitro. I just keep hitting those damn street lights and the back end swings round so easily. I guess I'm just not very good at speed driving :sarcastic

When racing try to go fast at first and get a head start once your in front try not to go as fast as you can but try maintain a reasonable speed and the comp shouldn't go to fast and should be driving recklessly, well it worked for me anyway.

I got a big lead then eased out, slow down excessibly for corners etc.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I think that knowing that I HAD to win helped me concentrate more, and eventually I managed it. I've now completed the Reuniting the Familes etc, and am now in the next area :thumb:

I love this game so much. its definately sweet and the fact that you can drive forever into the water is all to amusing. I definately enjoy this game for tis the best yet in the series.

This really is one great game. I've not yet got to the section where you start piloting planes, but I have found a cropduster and flew that around for ages. It handled like a dream - except when I tried to land it and hit something on the way down which made the plane plummet - 'Wasted' again! :D

This game never fails to amaze me. Everytime I turn on San Andreas. Rockstar thought of absolutely everything this time. San Andreas has everything. Ranging from you (as CJ) being able to keep multiple girlfriends, to something big-time like gambling in the casinos and flying jets. Even the small things you couldn't do in any other GTA series: swim, climb walls, progress in many different areas such as your fitness level and your skill levels in the sweet weapons the game has to offer....everything this game has is unreal. Even though the game just came out 10/26...you gotta wonder - what's next?

Probably one by the boat school, and you can import one when you finish the export lists.

For me this game sounds so exciting , but i must say , when will GTA finally die , i mean its way past its prime , i believe this should be the nail in the gta coffin , move along , but from what i hear its a great game but is a bit "done this before........... oh theres a new thing" ...... if u get my drift

GTA San Andreas features the same weapons as Vice City. You also imput the same buttons. Say a code on Vice City was Left x2 then Right x5 on GTA Sa enter that then the same effect happens.

If you have LCS I suggest you download the cheat save file. Not only does it have a neat cheat menu, you can also use it to take screenshots, spawn anything in the game, including flyable helicopters, and super jump!
