Why do YOU like video games?

I didn't know where to put this, but since videogames are a form of entertainment...

Anywho, I like video games because it kind of takes me to another world that I can spend hours in. It may sound weird, but some of the characters I can relate to. It's not like I live in a bad world, its just that I sometimes feel like I wish that we lived in the world of say, Zelda, my favorite series. I can spend hours at a time playing a game because its just so enjoyable.

It's just a damn entertaining way to kill some time, and in certain ones you get to do things that if you did them in the real world you would be in some serious arse trouble.:evil My favorite games are survival-horror games, nothing beats being scared out of your trousers while playing a Resident Evil or Silent Hill game.:thumb:

A stress relief is a major reason for me too... And the greatest thing is that I can do stuff I woudn't be able to do in real life... With better lookin graphics adn stuff, these games are more immersive! I love shooting, killing, racing, exploring and stuff! A good example is like KOTOR! I love starwas and with this game, I really feel that I'm in a universe of starwars! :D

Games are a way to forget about schoolwork, the job, etc. All kinds of games are fun for me...cards, board games, console games, and PC games.

For me it's all about the story, I enjoy games because of the plots which is why i mainly play RPGs, survial horrors etc where the story unfolds with lots of twits and turns along way. It's like an interactive book where you're part of the story, that and it's fun to run people over with the tank in Grand Theft Auto.:D

I like video games because it keeps the mind stimulated and it is good way to let off some steam. And you get to do things on a game you can't do in real life.

Hmmm....this be a hard question, well here goes.....
I like games because when i play them it changes my persona, Not in a bad way but when i play games i want to become the character and in my mind i do. Its also a great way to release anger, and pent up stress. It also keeps me off the booze and sometime the Weed.
But the main reason i like playin games is because there fun, It seems that in this day and age the only way you can express yourself fully is to play a game.
Its the Same with Football and stuff, When i'm on the pitch i scream my head off at my team mates and get rough with the opposition. But off the pitch everyone be friends.....Its kinda like that....You go into Battle Mode.......If that maked any sence to you lot.

Well, choose your own adventure, yes (I read this kick-ass one about Mario!)..... but I meant with the dice and such. Actual dice-battling RPG-ness.

Oh yeah! With the "Dungeon Master" and the Elf, Warrior and Knight stuff? Where the Dungeon master made up different plot twists and you had to work together to get past it? Good times!!!!!

I like video games because they provide me with a relief from reading boring things. It provides me with something where I don't have to use my imagination because it's right there in front of me. It's like reading a book with few words.

I like video games 'cos, well, it's something to do, fun, the fact that you can beat up people and let of steam, sometimes what you do may cause a funny screenshot, which you can laugh at and send to people, for the fact that it's good for the mind if you play strategie games and online play lets you communicate with people, then blow them up.

if it is an online game or a game which i play over the lan then a take it as a bit of a compitition. i love nuthing more than beating ppl which think they are the greatest.
but i still have fun at the same time which make it all that much better.

Like seph said I can relate to some characters and because its something im skilled at (i can complete WW in 1 day)I know this will sound sad but its also a way of escapeing reality..........
