I must say I have my reservation about him signing for newcastle, but the lads career is at a crossroads, he knows he has to produce the goods or be at some crap club like pool in a few months.
Overall good aquisition I think

He will either do terribly crap or do extremely well, he's at a stage where this is most likely his last chance to play for a big team (if he does rubbish at 'Castle), so he should know he needs to play well to keep any sort of career.

28 with a huge paypacket which nobody else will pay if he fecks up at Newcastle, which I think he will.
He is past it, some players are just good in their "early years" and the rest of their career is somewhat ****, look at Mendieta for example, rubbish now, was excellent, plays for Middlesborough , look at Rivaldo, ain't done anything decent in like 4 years, plays for some Greek club now I think.

I didnt realise he was 28 he seems to have been around for so long.
Still you aint as fast at 28 as you are at 21.
How long did he sign for 2 years 3 years?
AT the end of his contract he is probably going to be in his '30s and not many pro footballers play for long into their 30's
Knees and ankles wont allow it.
Undoubtably hes a good signing for any team .... but hes not a long term prospect IMO.

his attitude will be more than likely his downfall.... again...
Well Bobby is going to look after him at the Toon. Kluivert supposedly has some "marriage problems" and that is why his game has suffered. Because of this Bobby is finding him a home well away from the Bigg Market or the Quayside. If you don't know where these places are you've never had a good night out.

Butt is a good aquisition for us, Dunno why we let Speed go though :head:
Speed was getting on in years. I think we had enough fire power from the midfield, and Bobby wanted a defensive midfielder to tighten up the leaky defense.
All that counts for nothing though, they've all got conjunctivitus so they've closed the training ground.
