Whats the point of different medals? A race by definition is a contest to see who can accomplish something in the quickest possible time. In the good old fashioned pistols at dawn (little known event) no one got the silver medal for coming second.

In days of antiquity when it was played at Olympia the greeks had no concept of 2nd or 3rd ...... the only person who got a prize was the winner.

Infact the losers were often ridiculed and had things thrown at them .... while the winner was revered as a god.

Its only in our bull**** politicaly correct wank world that we reward mediocraty.

The bloody schools in this country have sporting events where they dont keep score ... becuase its all about 'having fun not who wins' ... well in my opinion they can stick that right up their arse.

Teaching a generation of kids ,its ok to lose as long as you had fun doing it.

On the topic of medals, I do think that atheletes should be able to get Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Just because they're not good enough to be a the top, or may have made a mistake, doesnt mean they arent great at what they do and they deserved to be recognized for that.
