Resident Evil 4....

....my distaste comes to a close.

I've mentioned a handful of times that I didn't like Resident Evil, which is a shame because it sounds like it has a great story and people really get into it.

I never really liked it because of the controls. I found it really hard to stop, aim and shoot. Resident Evil 2 was the one third person shooter I've ever played. But by the look of the commercials I've seen, whenever the guy is shooting something, the camera zooms in on him and goes behind his shoulder (almost first person..pretty much the closest thing to it).

So anyways, this may be the first Resident Evil I'll buy. But first I need to know about controls and stuff. Will I be able to shoot from a first person (or close to it) perspective?

I've played the import and it was all from behind the shoulder.
This ones a much more full and complete game than the others, Me thinks you'll love it.

yeah, but the crazed people are being controlled by some freaky zombie monks...but there's also something/someone controlling them. i didnt get out the villiage when i played it....only had a 10min bash in my local Another World store.

According to what I remember reading in Nintendo Power, the people in the place you're in are not normal humans, but "Gazondas", or something. Apparently the word they use is the spanish word for livestock. That is the only hint they gave towards the origins of these people. They didn't want to spoil anything.

PS2 version is out by the end of the year confirmed. Looks pretty good though...better then Resident Evil Zero anyhow.

Anyhoo, I will prolly get this myself as it looks like the most decent resi ever and not just the normal contrived pap that I personally considered the whole series to be with exception of the very first one.


Anyway ilovemygaycube77, I will get this on ps2 as it has better graphics than the GC ;)

yeah i agree on that one. I liked all the RE's so far but zero just wasnt the same to me. not enough fighting and too many puzzles

So my pal YC got RE4. He is enjoying it. He makes it sound pretty good. Except he mentioned a couple of points that sound a bit bothersome. Apparently you can't move and shoot, as well as some other control restrictions.

So I probably won't be getting it right away. Oh well, Star Fox Assualt and TimeSplitters 3 are coming next month. :thumb:

don't talk **** man just stick a copy of metroid prime on then see how much better the ps2's graphics are, im no fan boy here i got all three consoles and the gamecube when correctly used easily has the better graphics. the ps2 has to be the weakest by far for graphics.

i realize this to be nothing more than fanboy bait so i will let that go. just remember the remake of the first Resident Evil has better graphics than anything PS2 has. Of course graphics are not the most important thing, but then again REmake has the gameplay to back it up, as well. :cool:

still don't know why people struggle with RE controls, i have played psx, ps2 and gc revisions and they are all so simple, same with the tomb raider games. strange that really....

This is the best game ever. I got it on Thrusday on import. It's so good, the graphics are wicked, the gameplay is even better. And the new style of play makes it the best Resi game, and one of the best games ever. I liked the other Resi games, but didn't really like the camera angles e.t.c. But since this game is all from behind Leons shoulder, it makes it a lot better. If u don't own this game, go and buy it now.

And the Cube has better graphics than the PS2 cause it's a lot newer. And i'm not a fanboy cause I own all three consoles.
