dunno suppose when your not having any fun playing it, theres other stuff like if the controls are really bad and are drawing away form the game play but they all led to the same ting you not having fun.

One mans non fun is another .. mans ... fun ...

I think Fill pretty much covered it. If your not having fun whilst playing it, either one of two things:

It's not your type of game genre (ie it's an RPG game and you usually dislike RPGs).
Or its just a bad game.

If you think of another game constantly while playing it, alot like women :D

Aye, except it is hard to imagine another game's graphics on top of one game's graphics.

Hmmm...yeah, I suppose bad controls does it for me. That, or, if nothing happens when you star and in six seconds you die.

At least with Pokémon, you know you're going to get a big addition every time, right?

GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!!!!---Pokemon

I dunno.....I'd say the use of violence on a much too youing audience would constitute a bad game for young ones. Most kids learn how to kill through MTV anyways....

Popcynical

I didnt learn how to kill from MTV. I just get the desire to kill when I watch MTV.

Okay, I'll admit it.

Pokemon Red/Blue was a pretty damn good game. Even better if you have mates playing them too. The rest sucked though. Stupid weird named Pokemon.

Anyways. If you're not having fun, then the game sucks. At least to you. That simply, really

I agree with whomever said when your playing the game and thinking about another game, (like a different guy :upto: ), do you perservere, or just quit it?

I usually just un install it on PC and move on, save it for a rainy day...

For one whole summer, all I played was Final Fantasy Tactics. For 8-10 hours on my off days, I'd sit and master everything. By the time I was done, I had invested over 130 hours, and all of my characters were leveled out and mastered. Games can be addictive, but if you know when to qiut, its not a problem

Yeah... I reckon that a game is bad when it's not fun. Bad controls, an unbalanced difficulty setting, a bad story, a boring battle system... these things all can help to suck fun factor out of a game. And to have fun is one of the biggest reasons why we play games, right..?

being a big RPG fan i think the game is spoiled if the story line is ruined early in the game or the game is to predictable.

I use the scientific hypo ratio. Being a diabetic means that if a game manages to engage me to a point where I don't eat thus going hypoglycemic and then further engages me to the point that I don;t notice I am hypo then it is a good game.

If it engages me to the point that I feel hypo but stop to eat something then it is an alright game.

and if it's so bad that I just get up and go eat something out of sheer boredom then it's a bad game.

Lol not a scientific system... god I hope none of the Docs from the Diabetic clinic read this.

Graphics, Gameplay, Voicetalent.

These are what I base a game on, and all of them needs to be good, and by graphics, I mean the graphics for its time(so graphics like some old retro games I'd class as good).

I hate a game that has **** gameplay. If all you do is press one button all game, its a pile of crap, a game needs to be stimulating for the brain, it needs to be fun, it needs to be active to keep you thinking and stop your brain from eventually becoming a pile of mush.

As for voice acting, take the Legacy Of Kain games for example. One of the things that makes these games so great is the superb voice talent. The voices match the characters very well. On some Ive seen huge stocky fellas with high pitched voices... wtf? Its voice acting like that that sucks, that and a voice with no varying tones etc.

Thats how I judge a game, and if it lasts longer than a few days, its a bonus.

Aye, sometimes it is just better to have text-based speech that voice overs.

Pagan_Purity

Phoenix MUD is actually a lot of fun, you just have to have imagination.

And RPG's are more fun if you don't know what to do, and you have to figure it out on your own

And knocking Nintendo....*shakes* you should be ashamed of yourself

Hmm... same as most people to me it's about Gameplay if it's entertaining and I'm having fun that's all that matters. Graphics and everything is just an extra...

Is it that bad? Glad I didn't play it, then.

If I were to elect one game as the king of bad gaming... that would be 'Superman 64'. Oh, and 'Bubsy 3D'.

Ah, and I reckon 'Charlie's angels' should be mentioned too. God, this game is hideous. :|

the graphics aren't big adeal to me unless they're from the stone age but it has to have good game play, not too repetitive, and good storyline. :thumb:

Technically it's a sideways scroller, where you have to press a button to turn around.
Also the... what do you call them, ground markers, for where a platform begins and ends are totally shot, and there's a fair bit of platform-hopping needed. More often than not you'll fall right through the middle of the floor.
Also take into account the god-awful live acting.

A button to turn around, wtf
