Energy is used to power your shields and beam weapons on both your planets and ship. Make sure you have plenty of it at all times.:biggrinba

Yeah, energy is used to power your beams first, and then if there is any energy left over after your beams, then it is used to power your shields. So it's good to have enough energy to power both your beams and shields.

And if you have a planet with no energy, its a sitting duck.

Or, you could compute how many beams and shields you have total, and then make sure you have that much energy.

To do that, you have to know that (assuming your beams/shields/hull are all the same level) you have the same number of beams and shields as hull spaces. So, if you can carry 10,000 things in your hull, you can also have 10,000 beams and 10,000 shields, so you should have at least 20,000 energy.

Pearman, it's not the Hull rating which determines the amount of energy you can carry, it's the Power rating.

Yeah, I was definantly talking about beams and shields. The amount of hull spots you have is the same as the number of beams you have, if both are the same level.
