i'm afraid its those pop up ads that keeps the websites going :( its something that you are going to have to put up with, people just dont click on the static ad banners enough to give webmasters some ad revenue, dont forget that it cost to run a site and the only way to get money back is by those banners .... if banners arent on this site soon it may be going down !!! :(

Go to themirror.co.uk or whatever their website adderss is, and visit the Kelly's I section. Last week there was a link in it to a program that disbaled windows poping up.

i see your point!! they don't piss me off that much the just get on my nervs sometimes. but they are still anoying.
Use a program called Popup Killer.
It really works. Set it to aggressive blocking and never again will you worry about popup ads disrupting your browsing experience.
It is this weeks XBD'S PROGRAM OF DISTINCTION.
I suggest ye download a copy. Just search on Google!

Yeah it's a handy program to have if you're just surfing about but it gets annoying when you have to turn it off to view something that's set to pop up and turn on again when you leave, but other then that it's cool:D
I use "Pop-Up Stopper" which I got on the cover disc from "PC Utilities"!! You get absolutely NO pop ups with that little prog! Well worth having! http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smileys/contrib/edoom/flamethrowingsmiley.gif Hey, Hey!! There goes another!!

I know they are necessary, but an annoyance nevertheless. Its when you get about three popping up every time you go onto a particular page - that's when it annoys the hell out of me. One I can cope with, but three - I ask you. That's self defeating coz I just immediately close them all without looking at them.
I'll look into some of the sites mentioned above - I didn't know you could block the damn things :D
If you don't like banner ads I believe there are programs out there that remove the banner ads from pages.
But, as I have not tested one of these......
No XBD PROGRAM OF DISTINCTION award.
