How dare they bend to the will of those namby-pamby Americans who don't want the event referenced in any way whatsoever, and have even gone as far to petition that every programme ever made featuring the towers has them airbrushed out.

The planes were a bit crap anyway for I'm actually happy about that they handled pretty badly in San Andreas.

Dunno, the Hydra was teh sex when it came to San Andreas. I spent many a hour cruising it round SA before crashing into a skyscraper that appeared from no where.

The main reason for not including planes is because the map is so small, the game only takes place in one city so there is no need for air transportation (cept helicopters).

Of course there's also the whole 9/11 deal, but I doubt rockstar even care. They get sued for just about everything else anyway. =P

I think they do care abit, afterall the game is virtually set in New York. I doubt they want the game getting banned in to many countries.

True, but I don't think it is their main motivation. If they put planes in, you could fly across the map in 2-3 minutes (assumingly) somewhat cheapening the 'size' of the game.

It's also down to a level of realism, how often does one see a plane fly through new york? ...With exception of course to certain past events.

;) More often than you think. Pipers, etc. Big planes, usually, stay in their holding patterns away from the city.

Planes being rammed into buildings would be passe...fiction imititating reality..blah, blah. It is 2007, it they want to base it on NYC, work with what is there now.

I never equated Liberty City with NYC. The GTA IV (I now need to buy the PS3) looks loosely based on NY.......I saw a very modified version of Times Square and the Bowery in a link.

The game will be released anyway. I am looking forward to it.:thumb:
