This is pissing me off. I cannot access GG through my main machine (which happened before with dramatic concequences...) ARGHHH!!!!!
Well, I probably won't be able to visit until I fix this, whatever the hell it it :(.
(I am visiting through my laptop, BTW).
Perhaps if you elaborate on the problems your having then we can help!

It's a 404.

Can't visit again :(. I am writing this from Linux BTW (need to open a postscript file, and don't want to download a Windows viewer when Red Hat Linux 7.2 comes with one...)

  Anybody else understand that?:D
Understand only this, Linux is a horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid, piece of programming. In all of its various shapes and forms, Linux is sh*t.
Workbench 1.3 on the Amiga 500 is better than Linux. Probally more compatible too.
Linux should be banished.
Everyone says Microsoft have the monopoly on the Operating System market. Its true. But they have the monopoly for a reason. Windows is better than any other operating system in existence. Don't argue with me, I have used Linux, BeOS, Windows 95, 98, ME and XP, Solaris, AmigaOS and DOS.
Windows IS better.
This off-topic rant is brought to you by XBD.

I have to disagree with you there -- I far prefer Linux to Windows.

**wonders whether XBD used a crap distro of Linux, e.g. Mandrake...**
I CAN visit from Netscape, just not IE.

Don't say "Its free". U ever heard the sayin, "You get what you pay for?"

Let's see then...
Built-in JetDirect support (annoying in Windows)
Much stuff is supported already without having to download things
Free decent programs :p
Open-source, so when there are bugs they are patched pretty quickly
MUCH BETTER WEB SERVER BUIT-IN!!!!!! (IIS is just crap -- no PHP, MySQL, Perl, SSI even!)
Comes with a load of useful programs
More people are starting to use it so more programs are being developed
And tonnes more.. :p
(Oh yeah, and you can always use WINE and it supports FAT/FAT32 :p. )
Do you wish to elaborate on whic distro you were using? :p
Oh yeah, amazon.com uses Linux :p
This post was sponsored by the smiley :p

I couldn't give a giraffes left nipple if it has a good web server.
I couldn't get Worms United to run on it. And that is hardly a power-hungry game now is it?
The version of Linux I have is Linux Mandrake. Which I download two 650meg ISO's for. It took me fu**ing weeks to do with GetRight, and all I got was some piece of sh*t operating system.
I am about to try the QNX OS, I shall report back at some point whether that sux too. Although I suspect it won't.

Righty then.
As much as I hate Microsoft, (and I do really hate Microsoft!) I'm afraid Windows is the best of the bunch. It's easy to use, powerful, and very easy to mess with. It's pretty much the standard of Operating Systems, and all in all it's good.
But I don't want to end up arguing with anyone, so I think I'll just toddle off now...
[Turns his back and walks off into the horizon. That's all there is, there isn't any more.]
[Turns round, realizing what he just posted.]
And if ANYONE says that I watch that crappy Madeline show I will... probably walk off again.
[And with that, he disappears.]

Mandrake is crap... And look, I was right, XBD does use Mandrake! I would much prefer to use Windows than Mandrake too :p.
A quote from someone on the Uplink forums:
Mandrake - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. It's easily the LEAST stable of all the distros I've used, their proprietary kernel patches actually seeming to _create_ flaws instead of fixing them. Sadly, it has the easiest installer.. meaning those who want easy flock toward it, only to end up in a help channel or on the phone with tech support a few hours every week.
See? Mandrake is crap :p.

I wouldn't know what it's like, never even heard of it before. But there are certain things in life that are just better than alternatives:
Coke is better than pepsi
Man U are better than arsenal
Windows is better then linux
That's the impression I get,if it was wrong the majority of people would use linux.

Windows = easier than Linux. Newbies to computers would prefer Windows because it is easier to use (a function you need :wtf:).
I assure you that insulting people will not make Linux better. But look on the bright side, it sure couldn't make it any worse!
Phoenix is right. If Linux kicked as much as as you claim, everyone would use it. But they don't do they?
Dave2

I've explained myself above... Windows = EASIER than Linux.
Sprinkles

Your right, it is.
It's also the most popular. There is a reason for that.
I'm sure Linux has at least some good points, but I much prefer Windows.

Nope.

At least try a DECENT distro before arguing. All distros are different, slackware is TOTALLY different to SuSE which is totally different to RedHat.
PS2Replay is hosted on a Linux server, so is AAG and probably this forum (upload a:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
and see...), so it's obviously a decent OS. The reason why Windows is so popular is because it is EASIER FOR NEWBIES SO THEY DON'T TRY ANYTHING ELSE.

master of the obvious, thats exactly why new computers come out with windows installed and not linux isn't it and linux basically has no game support. :upto:

Actually Wine is getting pretty good -- you can run most progs with it (including Half-Life) and RTCQ has a Linux binary you can download...
Plus I think that PC sellers can only buy OEM versions of Windows from M$ if they only sell Windows .

and your point is?
I use Windows because everyone else has it... And why buy a new one when I cah have theirs?:upto:
That, and I'm too lazy to try another OS...
