i'm a game addict..

i play (an obscure game that I was attempting to promote before the name was removed) and i love it..

for me game addiction is good because it can help me in escaping to all my problems.. whenever i have problems, i just play the game and then i will forgot all of them..

it helps me to refresh my mind..

and also making me happy while playing it..

i think it's not bad to be addicted in the game..

how bout you???

Talmon

Don't pitch the specific game lad. We hate shills.

Congratulations on making sense though!

Gaming addiction can be a bad thing, just like any other uncontrollable compulsion.

Recently some parents in Utah were playing D&D to the point where their children almost starved to death.

It is fine to play video games alot, but with moderation. If it is soaking into your family time or such things as eating and sleeping, you need to think about hanging it up for a few days. On average I play about 3 to 4 hours a day.

I once posted in a thread that I was far more comfortable actually talking to people in the real world than typing. The written word loses a lot in the translation such as tone, facial expressions, eye contact, body language, etc. I was not brought up in the "computer" generation, per se....I am actually more adept at interacting with peopple I can actually see and speak face to face with. That being said..I know it is an antiquated idea....All this technology does not bring people together..it seperates them. So much is lost in translation.:happysad:

I think the problem you run across in this area... is that this is a forum.

Because it is a forum, the majority our members value the precision with witch one can explain his or her ideas in this format. It is not an instant messenger client, there is no reason anything should be getting lost in translation out of haste. There is even a nifty little grammatically correct punctuation indicating the use of irony or sarcasm. [ (!) ]

Most people who post here don't have verbal communication or sales as a strength, though they do astoundingly well at making brilliantly composed rational, logical and most importantly legible posts.

As someone who does have exceptional verbal communication skills in my daily interaction with real live humans, I personally find that that gives me an edge in expressing myself here.

Any functional mastery of the English language should translate into posting... one would hope.

Gee thanks for pointing out that rather blindingly obvious fact.

Obviously when anyone uses the word "speak" to describe conversation on a text based forum they are using it as a figure of speech, not the literal meaning of the word. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to realise that now does it, that giant IQ of yours must have taken a vacation.

Sapphireruby
07-26-2007, 05:32 PM
I speak a great deal differently than I type. I guess that was the point I was trying to make.

To Talmon's point, I do have a typing style which is more that of a chat room style than a forum one. I chock that up to laziness on my part I guess.

The bull **** rhetoric I was eluding to was not those whose area of study is quantum physics and the like. My friends spouse has a degree in nuclear physics and he can talk the talk and walk the walk.

I was referring to POSER people who are self-righteous and feel that they are much more intelligent than they, in reality, are. Use of ridicule, sarcasm, etc. to cover their inadequate sense of self is pathetic.

I don't need a smiley to impart my feeling to you Talmon. Go **** yourself.

Okay I think we really aught to decide if we want people posting or if we want to be overly converned with being on topic. Most often these are tangents and the thread gets steered back, sometimes it doesn't then the thread gets closed.

This isnt exactly a winner of a thread, there is about as much room for discussion here as: Do people watch or post?

Yes any addiction is bad, no ****.

The hard part of the game begins when, as a fairly experienced player, you become utterly bored of the character you created. It may sound ironic – everyone is free to create characters according to their own preferences. However, after hundreds of hours of game play with the same character, things are likely to become tiresome. This happens particularly if there’s nothing left of the challenge after having achieved the best gear and raided all the highest dungeons.

Needless to say, envy and curiosity also enter the picture – you really can’t help wondering what it would be like to be in the place of some other types of classes. On the other hand, the thought of starting a completely new character, considering how much time and effort that implies, isn’t very attractive either. That’s the point where the smartest thing you can do is to trade World of Warcraft accounts.

The concept of trading WoW accounts, as well as a wide range of other types of accounts, items, and currency started out on eBay. Users used it to trade all sorts of virtual items.

However, eBay eventually decided to cut down these forms of selling as they decided it went against the terms of service belonging to the companies whose sites required such accounts. As a result, people could no longer trade World of Warcraft account. In its essence, the concept of trading accounts is not illegal, but it is indeed against game rules.
There are, however, other places available for trading WoW accounts. Specifically, there are all sorts of forums where players come together and switch accounts. First they post some basic information about their character and then communicate, usually through instant messaging, until they reach an agreement.

The downside is that these kinds of places are usually full of frauds and scams. There are thousands of people who take advantage of the opportunity to make others give away their accounts and provide nothing in return. That’s why you always have to be extremely vigilant when you want to trade World of Warcraft account.

There are even companies specialized in buying, selling, and trading WoW Accounts. However, they buy them for a certain price, and then sell for a large premium; if you add to this the fees they charge players you come to realize it’s not very financially attractive for those who are interested in trading World of Warcraft accounts.

Not illegal, but trade with caution ...

Pretty much, yes. Of course if you do it the right way there's really nothing they can do to stop you, just don't advertise their sale.
They used to put them on ebay with the caveat "You are bidding on my time spent playing and not the items blah blah blah"[.i] in the hopes a bit of legalese would appease Blizzard sufficiently.
It didn't.

I was talking to a tech-support guy about my internet connection today and I mentioned World of Warcraft... The guy said he played and wouldn't shut up about it. Talking about how he couldn't get elite drops on his server, or something. Epic world drops? Yes, since the expansion came out they're a f**king bitch to get. Only yesterday did I get my second BLUE world drop, and it was useless.

They all look ****e, get out of it.

I suggest you either create on yourself, asking well geared and specced friends from either guild or just people you know. Read up on a few decent strategys, or ask on your realm forums something along the lines of 'Kara guild fury warrior looking for 5v5 team' You knows it.

In this time of year it's the best time to ninja yerself a spot into anything. Guilds and teams are always looking for people.

P.S If your making your own team Make sure you skirimish alot before you make a team, so you can replace any **** people.

Your spec isn't horrible for PvP, I played a warrior at 60, Only at AQ40 Level, managed to get Grand Marshal status and still do some decent PvE Damage, You just got to juggle it about, If you'v got the gold, i'd check out a few specs on the warrior forums.

I got my PvP/PvE Hybrid spec there, and i'm sure you can improve your fury spec.

I could, yeah. I could take all the points out of prot. I know how to play a warrior. Just trying to get some nethers for the stage 2 BS sword atm. But I do so hate tanking so it's basically 3 badges from Mech Heroic whenever I can find a group.

MadFog
07-29-2007, 04:48 AM
Mech heroic, the greatest instance in TBC, The scholomance of TBC, You remeber farming crusadar mats from Scholomance? Yeah, this it, but with EPIX.

Any half decent player can tank mech heroic. I suggest a felol druid, because that can do some decent dps on the **** packs that dont need tanking.

Let's face it you only need a tank on the bosses and sub-bosses.

Any DPS Warrior is overshadowed by the damage of other classes, and are thefor (usually) made to tank.

We all had a great laugh in KZ not to long ago, really held back on our DPS so our latest fury warrior (Who was ofc flasked up to the tits) was top of the damage meter by a fair bit was spamming the damage meter of all over the jobby, needless to say it took little less then a few packs before he was 5th.

That should have it own Mental Illness label....I can't believe that it still dons the air waves.

The tv addiction thing too is a little off. I watch tv but I do not plan my life around it. What with Tivo and the like people are actually addicted to a flippin tv programming system set up by 50ish men in corporate suits that "know" what the public NEEDS to be watching.

Laughing Man

Right I don't watch Big Brother but you would have to live in bin for most of the year not to pick up on the constant media bombardment that surrounds it.

So the current run of Big Brother how long has it been running now? It feels like it's been going since August 2005. I will admit to watching half the first season of BB and the concept seemed to be start with X number of nobodies, vote one of them out every week until their are 3 then everyone votes on who wins.

This one seems to be vote someone out, stick five others in, let two have a strop and walk out, stick three others in, vote someone out then stick them back in a week later. This has been going since August 2005 they must have half the population of Britian in the house by now.

RE big brother, I do know people who while it is on for the 12 weeks or whatever it is that watch it all day via the E4 channels or whatever it's on, that is just mad and imo addiction. I must admit, I did watch series 3 when Kate Lawler won it, that was a great series and the only 1 I can remember with the divide (poor side/posh side) in the house which made for some great viewing.

However, I was not addicted to it and cannot fathom how anybody can be that addicted to TV in general as there doesn't seem enough quality programs on to get addicted.
