Games that made you buy a console

Since this is a cross topic discussion, it can live in here.

So what games, if any have prompted you to splash the cash and buy a console, just to play it. For me, every console I have owned has had 1 particular game that made me buy it, here's my list.

PS1- Resident Evil
PS2- GTA3
N64- Doom 64
Dreamcast- RE Code Veronica X
Gamecube- RE Remake

I have actually owned 2 gamecube's, first I bought with RE Remake but sold, and have just bought another GC and RE Remake and RE Zero caus I am an RE nut.:wtf:

Sadly its Halo 3 for the Xbox. But I am glad about my decision as it looks like there are going to be some kick ass games coming out soon.

Ps1 - Tomb Raider 2
Ps2 - GTA 3

As yet nothing seems to be forcing my hand towards the next gen consoles. Possibly a PS3 when GTA comes out if a PC version isn't set for a same date release that way I can play FF13 when it finally comes out.

GTA4 will prompt my PS3 purchase. The other consoles hava all been gifts.

I think Bioshock is the closest thing to a system-selling game I've ever come across. Which is really weird since I'm not a fan of FPS's.
Mostly because I'm proper ****e at them.

And perversely even Halo 3 is looking tempting.

Edit: At least until portable Disgaea sells me a PSP.

PS3: GTA4 might tempt me seeing as how I've always played the GTA games on a sony console, anything else wouldn't seem right but more than likly it will be Gran Turismo 5

Gamecube: Rogue Leader
Saturn: Nights / Saturn Bomberman / X-Men Vs. Street Fighter / Guardian Heroes (I got these games many years after I bought the system!)
X-Box: Dead Or Alive 3 (I think)
PS2: Metal Gear Solid 2
Wii: LoZ: TP
PSP: Ultimate Ghouls 'n Ghosts
PS1: Battle Arena Toshinden
Dreamcast: Soul Calibur
NDS: Mario Kart DS

I can't really think of any other I've bought mainly for one game.

Come to think of it....the only game I played on my GBPocket was Pokémon Blue.

And it was my plan to wait until SSBB before getting my Wii. Mind you, I came up with this plan when I thought it was going to come out a year ago.

My 360 came with Guitar Hero II (+ guitar), Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Forza 2, all for free. I don't know if I would have been so eager to get the 360 (at least, not as quickly as I have) if these three games weren't included.

I suppose one thing you could kinda add here is Soviet Strike for the Playstation now i didn't buy one for it but it was one game that back then i really wanted to play badly but it was only out on the playstation i loved the strike games right from the start.
