GTA4: Worth buying a PS3?

Follwing on from my other thread (http://www.gamers-gateway.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28416) about games that are worth buying a console for, so far this seems the most likely game to persuade me to blow my overdraft on to get a PS3. Do you think it will be worth it?

GTA4 is pretty much the only reason I want a PS3.

Yet now that they are pushing back the launch date, I have decided I'll be buying one when Assasin's Creed comes out.

Though the root cause is definitly my sweet rampaging stress relief which will come whenever rockstar gets their **** together.

NO, I would get it for the XB360 not the PS3 because all the extra add-on are coming to XBLive but not for the PS3 version thanks to MS's money.

Of course if you really don't want a XB360 it should still be a good game on the PS3.

I really cant imagine playing it on an xbox console!

Maybe with a mod to use the PS3 controller, but that seems excessive.

Guess it depends if you want the extra episodes/missions or. Be a hell of alot cheapier then getting a PS3 mainly for GTA4

The thing is I am a big fan of Sony consoles, I would only be able to afford 1 not the PS3 and 360 so I would go for the PS3, I agree the 360 version would probably be better all round but i'm sure it is the only game I would buy for that whereas the PS3 there would be a lot more games worth playing for me.

Hopefully you can go in alot more building in this new GTA, they could do with some more shootout inside aswell as out on the streets.

It took a while for the best games to be released on PS2, I think PS3 will be exactly the same once the programmers start to realise how to make the most out of the beast.

Well why not wait till GTA4 is actually coming out? By then the PS3 will be a good bit cheaper than it is now.

Maybe but if the XB360 gets a bigger enough userbase in the meantime ahead of the PS3 that won't matter because the games will still not go there like last gen when the XBOX was far surperior to the PS2 but because of the userbase it missed out on alot. :(

Likely now adays there alot more multiplatform titles which makes everyone happy well apart people that only a have Wii anyhow. :lol:

I want GTA4 on the PS3 because I've only ever played GTA games on a Sony console. Playing it on another platform would be kinda strange in a weird and very odd way... I also like to use cheats in GTA games and if I did that in the Xbox360 version then I'd probably get booted from XBL games and not earn achievements either.

I'll be getting it on 360, had a ps3 just after launch and it was sold about 2 months after that. Like people say its all about personal preference.
Also heard a rumor that gods of war 3 is multi platform....which if true could be interesting!

Dont do it bro. I got a PS3 and a 360. I like them both about the same (360 is better for gaming though)I do play the 360 more due to live and Halo. but buying a system for one game is foolish. Blowing an over draft for one thing thats just for vanity is very foolish. PS3 is worth buying, just dont break the bank bro.
