I'm thinking more of the 'hidden' bosses, such as the underwater weapon in FF7 and was it emerald weapon in FF8? I know I beat the 1 in FF8, without cheating and it was a tough bitch, never did beat the one in FF7 though....

I had forgot about ruby weapon, I don't think any were as hard as the hidden boss in legends of lagaia though, stupid bird if I remember correctly.

I dunno why everybody thinks the bosses in FFVII were so hard... I beat them all fairly easily.

Dark Aeons maybe?

Well FFVII was my first RPG, before I want back to all the Snes ones might have something to do with it.

I hate the bosses where you have to use magic of a certain element and after a while the boss keeps changing the element it weak against especially when it's a final boss like Shadow Hearts 2 and Shin Megami Tensei.

The regular bosses are not that hard, it's the secret hidden bosses that are difficult.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about... the Emerald and Ruby weapons really weren't that hard for me. I can't remember exactly what I did, but I think it involved KoTR and some other materia that made the spell cast a couple times in a row.. Then some other materia that made it so that whenever one of them attacked me, I automatically attacked them with KoTR....

My memory is kinda hazy because I haven't played it in a while, though.

Well, of all the FF games, I've only played VII. I've still not managed to kill either Emerald or Ruby.

I could never get this to work properly.

Here's the soultion I used for beating the weapons in FF7

You need a X Summon linked too KOTR on character A
You need a mime materia equipped to characters B and C and these mime materias have to be linked to Quadra magic
All characters need to have the HP <--> MP materia
One character MUST HAVE a master Phoneix materia linked to a master Final Attack materia.

So what does this all do.

First the HP <---> MP swaps your characters total HP and MP, you'll be casting KOTR alot so you'll need it and the Weapons are so tough that in most cases one hit will kill you weather you have 999HP or 9,999HP.

Cast Kotr with character A, this will be cast twice in a row. Now go to mime with character B and use that this will generally cast KOTR once.

The reason why it is cast one and not twice as you would expect, after all your last characters attack was two casts of KOTR, is because each cast of KOTR is considered a single action, you just happen to get two goes per turn, however because you have mime linked to quadra you have a chance characters B and C casting the summon up to a further four times each.

The Phoenix - Final Attack combo means that your party will instantly be revived the second they all die. They have to be master versions as you require the ability to cast the summon as many times as possible.

Finally ensure all characters have the ribbon accessory. This means you don't need to waste time casting status effect curing magic.

I think Emerald is more difficult than Ruby, even with the Underwater Materia.

I've tried to best Ruby all by my lonesome, without KotR, but I've gotten annihilated every time.

Other than that, I don't really remember much other bosses that would still give me a hard time anymore. By saying that I mean, when I first played these games when I was about 13, I was a complete idiot and got destroyed often times by the third or fourth boss. Nowadays, Seraph Sephiroth is a joke and I beat the final boss of IX with one character alive. And that character was under Berserk the entire fight.

I had a really hard time defeating Emerald... I didn't have the patience to power-level enough to a point where I could beat him. He'd kill me after I did one move.
