Best GTA game, and why....

For me, and for a long time I was more partial to GTA3 mainly because of the smaller size of the playing area, it was less easy not to get confused by where you were going. However I now found myself much preferring Vice City, and that's mostly due to the 80's music which I must admit, have been downloading a lot of lately.

So, which was your favourite?

GTA3 - I prefer being in the 90s/00s rather than 80s although I did like the helicopters in Vice City.
Not so keen on San Adreas simply because it was far too big - especially on the PS2. Would probably have been OK on a 360 or PS3 as it could be more detailed.

I totally agree about SA, I think it's what a lot of people think aswell, I only played it for a few hours to be honest and gave up.

I liked them all but I think the best one had to be GTA VC!

GTA SA wasn't all that bad but after I'd finished the main game I couldn't be botherd to play it any longer due to the size of the map. However no matter what game it is it's a fine line because some people will complain that a game map is to small but then others will say its to big.... GTA3 and GTAVC got that right me thinks.

I'd have to say VC for the music, SA for the customisation, and GTA3 for almost everything else.
