RE4 Rocks My Socks

This game was what I played during GG's downtime.......I swear I played this game almost nonstop for about ten days; it rocked my socks. I fell off my chair laughing everytime the merchant threw open his cloak to display his wares, and yes, that Leon S. Kennedy is a fine-looking set of pixellated polygons as well. The gameplay rocked, the graphics lacked resolution on PC but it wasn't too bad. What I also really liked was how realistic the character's movements were during the cinematics though I see they used real actors for that. Of course, after finishing I tried to play RE 1, 2 and 3 but can't really get any of them to run properly on my system. Ah well.

The game had a knack for making it seem like I was really there, while I was playing I found myself plotting strategies for how to scout ahead, protect Ashley, save ammo, etc....altogether very realistic. I think I like this game more than I like the PoP series which is really saying something.....:thumb: Wicked game, I recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it.

Did you have the patch for the PC version, improves the graphics no end.

As for the game, I liked it but the 'zombies' didn't really seem like zombies to me although they were more life-like than real RE zombies. It's not the best of the series, I am old fashioned and still prefer RE2, RE3 and REmake but good nonetheless.

Yeah, I have to agree I do prefer the older Resident Evil games to Resident Evil 4. I also much prefer the old control system aswell it made it a little more creepy that way.

Not that Resi4 was a bad game just not as good as some of the previous games.

Love RE games, but for me it's a console game, i don't enjoy playing games like RE on a keyboard.

I need to relax on the couch and play it through the 32" widescreen.

No I didn't know of a patch, will have to go hunting for it now.

They weren't zombies though, just humans taken over by a parasite.

I can't even run RE1, 2 or 3 to any degree of playability. RE1 and 2 simply won't run and the time I ran RE3 it wanted to run in 320x280 screen resolution (I kid you not) and the best I could bring it up to was 800x600 which is still unappealing.

I loved resi 4 but agree with nem that i didn't like the fact they tried to move away from traditional zombies, anyone seen the one that's due out for the wii looks interesting.
