It all really started in 2004, i was down in the park with afew mates. One guys cousin was over who was a year older than the rest of us. He mentioned he was trying to persuade his dad to pay the ?9 to get WoW.
I was then around another friends house in 2005 and he said look i've been playing WoW for a while.

I remember him running into redridge and getting the griffin for which seemed ever. He let me make a horde and i was bored before level 3. He offered the trial and i installed it, i got to the end and i needed to enter credit card details and i didn't want to .. after all i didn't even like the game.

Unforunatly the friend moved the other side of the world to New Zealand, i still had never played WoW. Then on April 9th 2007 my dad bought home a trial that his friend gave him, and i've played since then.

I just wish i'de played when i had my mate to help me, he and my other friend got to 60 together doing most quests.

One guy moved realm and the other day to get the American version as the EU would D/C all the time.

So how did you start?

How did I miss this? Hmm....trying to get the dates right.

I guess I first heard about WoW at PAX05. My friend and some people we met in Seattle were going on and on about it: different classes they play as, Leoroy Jenkins, etc. Although I could see my friends getting excited about their conversation, I tried not to get too excited. After all, I was not yet keen about MMOs (you know, the addictiveness and all that) and especially not keen about a monthly fee (ludicrous!).
However, about a month later, my brother tells me to get up, because we're going to go get WoW. Oh, okay. His two friends tagged along because they needed to get something too (I think a mouse?), and along the way, we're all making jokes about how we're going to quit our jobs, drop out of school and the like. We got home and started installing...all 5 discs (I wrote a song about the length of this installation...I may never release it).
Since my brother bought it and was paying for it, it was mostly his account. I would only play whenever I knew he wasn't. My first class was Human Paladin, his was NE Rouge (but he quickly switched to Priest). It was magic.
A couple months later, my brother moved to the next province. I kept playing a little while, but for a fear of not being able to know when he was playing and not wanting to disconnect him, I resisted. Eventually I created my own account, with the intent to level up a character and surprise my brother. That never happened. One day, on a weekend he came back home, my brother ran upstairs and yelled "You've been playing WOW?? We could have been playing together!".
Eventually, my brother moved back and brought back a computer and his laptop. We (me, him and his girlfriend who had her own account) spent many days playing together for hours. Those were the best days.
Then the Burning Crusade came out. A week before then, I had just hit 60 for the first time. And the three of us (and whoever else) had the journey of hitting 70. Months passed, including the summer. During the summer, I had spent most of my free time playing PS2 and GCN games that I had missed and could find for cheap.
When October hit, my brother had enough and decided to unsuscribe. I did not want to tempt him (plus when I played, I would just do what he asked.....level this, farm that), so I quit too. Around this time, I saw that I could get an Xbox 360 with 3 games for free.
And I have not been tempted to go back after that magical year and about 2 months.

Yeah, but Wrath of the Lich King is out soon, so in the next patch it's pretty much OMG FREE EPIXX!
