View Full Version : Calendar... Is it faulty?

Is the calendar faulty? Does anyone ever even bother to click on the calendar link ONCE a year... :D

I asked whether its faulty or not because it doesn't show dates of 2008. Is it because its just for events? I mean, since no events were planned on GG for 2008, so there isn't a 2008 month in it... or am i just too dumb to find it... :head:

:wtf:

No one here ever touches the calendar as far as I know.

Apparently people wish to discuss the calendar situation more.

I'm sure it can be put to the right date as we don't want to appear to be living in the past do we (little joke there).

umm as for using it for events, I don't see how it can be.

hmm... as a matter of fact, after quite some pondering over the issue (which i daresay i really ever do  ), I come to a beta release conclusion that there really isn't quite much use of the calendar, not at least for events.... because my mind faces a blockade when thinking up something interesting for the word "event"in terms of Gamer's Gateway.

(pheeewww! long time since i typed its full name instead of just GG , i kinda feel proud )

[edit] although, keeping the calendar in working order just for the birthdays wont harm anyone, would it? :happysad:

It's not just about the calender its everything look at all the thread that have been made in here recently nothing has been done about any of them this place is being left to rot and that is how its going to seem from the outside if we have people here that can fix things and make this place better why not let them try?

^trouble maker! if only this were china I could have you beheaded! :)

As said in another thread, there are more than enough people who can do the things you speak of, only one person has the authority and the security access to do them and he is never here or if he is here he is acting like a **** and shutting the board down.

I agree, those who can help, should at least be allowed to give it a try.
I, for one, am pretty useless when it comes to web-designing and stuff, knowing HTML and JS is all i know, which can hardly be any help in a forum with php as its back-end core language thingy stuff

For those who CAN help, why not create new threads for suggestions on how to improve the site in this Website Feedback forum eh?

I don't think there was any need to say what i just said though... :vacant:

You will all be ecstatic to know that calendar now shows the correct date.

You may now take this opportunity to shower me with thanks and praise.

CLAPATHON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally!

You see, it would've definitely taken me another year just to realize that it was your b-day a week ago... and of lee's dad, and of so many other (quite inactive buggers/...) users!

HAPPY BELATED B-DAY to ya all!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D I'm quite happy My use of the GG's smiley's must've made that quite apparent :D

*considering Al Pacino in a rain of thanks, and of snow, and of blossoms, and of praises, and of... *

[edit] Mark January the 14th as the day when the calendar was fiddled with, as the exact history of the last fiddling with this particular part of the site by the forum admins is unknown...!
.
.
.

And so it was; the ten-and-the-fourth-day, of the first month, was to be known thereof as *with climatic background music...!* The Calendar Day!

You talk too much.

But do tell me where you get your crack from, it looks like high-quality stuff.

frankenstein

its hash, not crack... and don't spoil my celebration. If I hadn't started this thread, I wonder when would it be to correct this calendar problem, not that anyone gives a crap... I speak my mind, that's all.

AND my official regards to scar for giving this low-priority problem his consideration. :thumb:

The public calendar seems to not have been altered since the forum opened in 2001.

That was the problem really, it had been configured to only display dates till 2006.

So it's been 2 years and no one had noticed .....
