GTA:4 (Release date)

It will be released worldwide on Tuesday, 29 April 2008 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The game is set in a redesigned Liberty City, based heavily on New York City and New Jersey. It will be the first game in the series to use the new RAGE game engine, which also powered Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis.[4] It is being written by Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser.

Plot

Nikolai "Niko" Bellic is Eastern European, between 28 and 32 years of age and has come to Liberty City to pursue the "American Dream". Niko was persuaded to move to Liberty City by his cousin Roman, who claimed in multiple e-mails to Niko that he was living a fabulous life, with a mansion, women, hot tubs and sports cars. Roman's claims turn out to be lies to hide his own failures, however, and in reality he only owns a small taxi business, which he wants Niko to work for.

Roman is the only person Niko knows in Liberty City to begin with, and is one of his major connections in the first part of the game. Niko is a tough character, whereas Roman is friendly. Roman is heavily in debt and a lot of people are after him. He desperately needs Niko's support, hence the reason he deceived Niko into travelling to Liberty City. They are constantly bickering. It is later revealed that Niko has also been avoiding other, as yet undisclosed, problems at home.

Dear Customer,

We're writing to you regarding your pre-order for Grand Theft Auto IV. Due to the number of enquires in anticipation of release next week we thought it best to e-mail you with an update regarding our stock situation for launch date.

We're pleased to say that we have managed to secure enough copies to fulfil pre-orders on launch for both PS3 and 360 for those who ordered before Saturday 19th April. This is of course presuming there are no problems with the shipment and delivery to our warehouse and in the event there are any issues out of our control we will keep you updated. More stock will also be arriving throughout the launch week.

With regards to when GTA IV will ship, all retailers are under strict instructions with the release date and so no copies will be leaving our warehouse until Monday and as usual they will be shipped via First Class Recorded Delivery.

To prepare such a vast quantity for shipping we will begin the processing of orders this weekend so you will receive an e-mail then stating your card has been charged. To prevent any problems with the shipping of your title please ensure your card details are up-to-date, have not expired and that you have sufficient funds available.

I haven't pre-ordered my copy at all, someone is bound to sell early be it a big company like Tesco or someone small like one of the indy shops I visit to buy my games at.

Bloody hell!

Since all my orders of a Nintendo Wii were being rejected, I removed my card details from GAME.co.uk and thought nothing of it.
Apparently the preorder of GTA4 still counts, even when I'd already ordered it from another site.
Thankfully I managed to cancel it before they charged me, I'd have been left with two special editions and a huge hole in my bank balance.

Lets not even go there. Getting GTAIV on the PS3 I think, ok will loose out on achievements but GTA has always been a sony based game for me as I played the others on a PS2
