So what's going on with Play.com?

I started using Play about 2 years ago. At the time the price and speed of delivery where great. Titles ordered for release date more often than not arrived a day before the official release day which was class. Then it slowly but surely became that they arrived on the day of release, no problem.

This year however I have pre-ordered 3 items and ALL of them have either arrived the day after release or in the worse case arrived the Monday after the Friday release. So yeah the price is still great but what's going on with the arrival dates?

I only post this because I pre-ordered GT5 prologue about 3 weeks or so ago and with it being released today I expected it be here today, surprise surprise it ain;t here and I am willing to bet I won't see it till Monday. There goes a week end of owning folk online...

I've been finding their service to be going downhill as well - not helped by the thieving bastards in the postal service.

I've had two things nicked so far one this Christmas which was for me anyway so no biggie but last year or maybe the year before i bought a wicked present for my father a dvd box set that i knew he'd love and some thieving kunt stole it the up shot being i didn't have a Christmas present for my father.

Having said that i pre-ordered rainbow last Monday and it was here by the Wednesday.

I've noticed this aswell one of me items have been losted and others are taking longer then they have before. After I've gotten my missing game (which they've just reposted) I'm gonna stop using them and go elsewhere.

They use to be the best/cheapiest but now as time has gone on there are plenty of places equal and better so it doesn't really matter.

Yea that's one thing i have deffo noticed when play first came on the scene they were a lot cheaper than everyone else but over the years now other sites have caught up with them.

So where else we looking, currently the only other place that does this sort of stuff that I am a member of is Amazon.... hmm come to think of it Amazon have been pretty good, well the UK one has the Japanease one beats all other stories so far.

I ordered the Future Blues movie from their site, this triggered a series of events that resulted in me being told for the best part of 7 months that the DVD was not in stock but would be back in stock on the X of X month. It eventually resulted in them cancelling my order after about 8 months as they couldn't secure the product. Funny thing is it turned up as in stock on their site 5 months later so I ordered it again, 1 month later it arrived and guess what? The movie was ****e and the bonus bit that I ordered it for in the first place (i.e the seatbelts live in concert) was ****e as well.

Game offer free delivery nowadays and are reasonably competitive online (still pricey in stores). Also you get decent Quidco cash back with them.

Yeah Shopto.com, GAME and Amazon are the best at the moment I think for games. I don't really know about DVD's as I pretty much rent everything that isn't anime.

It's funny how GAME's website is cheap but instore it's still one of the most expensive that kind of makes it even worse considering. Talk about ripping people off instore...

Yeah they seem alright I've only used them a couple of times but they turned up on time. :)

What did you pre-order Laughing Man?

I hear because there's gonna be such a huge amount of people wanting GTA4 I hear some shops/websites might be getting it instock up to 2 weeks before the release of course they are not meant to sell them but I'm gonna pre-order it from Shopto.com no I might get it a few days early at least. :clap:

What the delivery like for pre-ordered games on amazon? i ask because they are offering GTA4 at 35 quid on pre-order.
