Possibly the worst Codemaster's driving game to date. Dunno what CM are up to but their 'driving' games have been getting slowly but surely worse with each new game. :wtf:

What makes it bad? I mean I looked at a couple of youtube videos and the game looks awesome. I also looked at some reviews on IGN and everyone gave it an average score of between 8 and 9. I don't doubt you don't like it but I just wondered why?

When I first saw the commercial for the game, I seriously thought it was a commercial for Burnout Paradise, though, I don't know why. From what I've also seen from YouTube, it does not look really interesting, to be honest.

You see that's the thing, everyone gets so swept up in the way it looks, then they see the crash damage and for some reason their brains get short circuited and they all miss just how bad the handling for the cars is and that the damage is there for one purpose and one purpose only, to give the console graphics *****s something shiny to look at and go ooooooo.

The car handling is a complete joke, seriously though I was driving a race trimmed Lambo and this thing was handling like some American muscle car. Their is one race where you sweep through a chicane at high speed and the physics are so bad that this unflappable four wheel drive beast of a car gets a tank slapper akin to that of some super suspension hot rod.

The issue is that whilst this game is purely arcade it is no where near fun enough. Burnout Paradise was a joy to play. Throwing the car in to a corner at 100mph drifting the tail out and then holding a 500m power slide on just the throttle before giving it a small tweak to put it back on course was truly the definition of spot on handling. Not real but fun, that's the point Grid just fails to provide this level of insane accurate control and then combines it with some daft damage system, some even more stupid time reversal aspect (take straight from SCAR by the way) and then adds in some really just annoying AI opponents.

aye, played the game a bit today, for the first time, not impressed by car handling or the physics in general. the game looks awesome though, but where is the gameplay?

I vote for NFS: Underground.. that is just pure fun! (aside from porn)

I like GRID..... Yea the handling isn't anywhere near as good as say FORZA or GT but it doesn't bother me all that much. As for the AI, i think its better than GT AI.

I havnt played this yet but its the same engine as grid inst it? If so I'll take your word that its **** i hated that game the steering was way to floaty.
