Went out and bought it. Fantastic. Just about every next gen titles I've played to date has instantly annoyed me, generally by being all flash looks attached to an annoying control system. This game has done that, the controls work very nicely, the octo suit is genius and looks brilliant and doesn't make you totally invisible to the enemy. Their are loads of cool gadgets and the story so far is interesting enough.

A mile better than the last MGS game I am really liking it at the moment.

Never really played a MGS game before but that didn't stop buying MGS4 today. Will read a little into the back story and then I'll go and play it later.

Never played any of them. Somehow I get the feeling they would have a plot I'd like but... meh.

I like it so far but I have a question or two.

When you knock out a guard and the star icon appears over there heads do they wake up and inform other guards in the area to your location?

OH my GOD. I just watched the cut scene at the end of the 2nd act, the one with Raiden in it. No spoiler we all knew he was in it somewhere. I just sat there in total slack jawed amazement throughout the entire scene.

I'm overall very impressed with it, the game is stupidly cinematic...but so are the others so there's nothing new there. And the Cutscene that laughing man talks of its just brilliant. I'll be sad to see this series end.:(

It's pretty mindblowing to be honest I'm very impressed aswell it's everything I was expecting, while we all know it's gonna have a sad ending can't wait to find out what happens.

While this maybe the last MGS I don't think this'll be the last Metal Gear they have alot of years to play with and alot of different characters could take lead even.

I have played MGS 1,2, and 3 but I dont have a PS3. Im still vainly hoping that they will release it for the Xbox because I have seen bits and pieces on the PS3 and would love to play it.

Snake would never lower to the level of an X-Box.

MGS is one of Sony's killer game series, its a game series that sells consoles, there is about as much chance of MGS 4 coming out on X-Box as there is of Halo 3 coming out on PS3

It would also need to be a multi disc release for it to fit on an XBox. Pretty sure a few reports popped up of Hideo having trouble trying to get the whole game on to just one Blu Ray disc. That may be bull spit right enough.
