Thread title says it all really. Just list your top five all time games so far and what system its on.
1. Sonic 1 (Megadrive)
2. Gran Turismo (PS1)
3. Perfect Dark (N64)
4. GTA 3 (PS2)
5. Colin Mcrae Rally (PS1)
Sonic 1 - The Megadrive was the first console I owned and Sonic was all I had.
Gran Turismo - What can I say, it keeps getting better
Perfect Dark - Fantastic shooter and still one of the best FPS games ever made
GTA 3 - Free roaming carnage and the series, like GT is still going strong
My Megadrive was a PC, it ran on Windows 3.1 and 1mb of ram... hmmm better than Vista is at the moment

I'm probably going to get mocked for this :D
5) Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA)
4) Super Smash Bros (n64)
3) Super Smash Bros Melee (Gamecube)
2) Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GBA)
1) Pokemon Blue (Gameboy Color)
The top four can be switched around, I couldnt really think of a fifth so I just put a Castlevania game in there.

Ok I haven't exactly played a lot of games, grew up with nothing electronic whatsoever except for a 13 inch black & white TV and a rotary dial phone...this was in the 90s....:O
But anyways I will name one game: RE4!!!!
And some of you must know how much I talk about Prince of Persia and The Sims but really I think my award goes to RE4.

Well, I'll try brainstorming first. In the order I thought them in:
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (PS2)
Super Smash Bros Melee (GCN) or Brawl (Wii) <---- I've just spent more time with Melee so far
Bomberman 64 (N64)
Mario Party/2 (N64)
Final Fantasy IX (PS1)
Honourable mentions:
Rock Band (360)
World of Warcraft (PC)
Cel Damage (GCN) <--- maybe you've never heard of it/played it, but I've decided it is my favourite racing-esque game.

Hmmmm, I don't know. I see a lot of people are playing COD4. It sometimes seems like I'm the only one not playing it.
And why can't the greatest game be a new one? One would almost hope it would be.

The thing is that it almost never is. Everyone seems to think that it has to be a "classic" game to be the best.
And what's disgaea?
QuizMaster
07-13-2008, 05:56 AM
And what's disgaea?
Ask Loop, dood. And ask him about "dood".
Oh well, I beat him here. Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories are two Nippon Ichi (love that NI)/Atlus turn-based, tactical RPGs. Disgaea: HoD included a funny story about a Demon Prince named Laharl, who wakes up after a 13-year nap, to find out that his father died (choked on a black pretzel). Now there are many demons trying to take over and become Overlord, as if they forgot about Laharl.
There were hundreds of classes to encounter and earn/create, the most common of which were these demonic, exploding penguins known as Prinnies (they said "Dood" frequently....and there was voice acting in this game).
But the two greatest, most worthy of mention things about this game were that: a) The level cap wasn't the typical 99, but 9999. To beat the standard storyline, I think you just had to be slightly over 100, but you could just keep going on and on.
b) Within every item, weapon and armour you find, there is a randomly created dungeon to explore. Depending on the rarity of the item, there could be 30,60, or 100 levels. Each time you went down a level, the item levelled up. Along the way, you find better items for different stuff, and you can go into those dungeons too! Also, there were stat-building characters that you had to find and kill, located in random levels. Sometimes I would play a half-hour or an hour, just levelling up an item I don't care about.

Your top 5 games is resident evil 4.
Good counting there
I blame the Cookie Monster. You see, every time the Count had items to count, the Cookie Monster would come and eat them away, pretty soon 7 became 3, 6 became 4, and 5 became 1. My young mathematical mind was corrupted because of him.
Besides, RE4 is that good.

If those numbers on your chart are interchangable then technically it was RE6.
...a Demon Prince named Laharl, who wakes up after a 13-year nap...
WRONG!
Two years, dood!
Also there are too many great games to narrow it down to just five, but Disgaea and World of Warcraft are in there for sure.
I trust we can count all the Pokémons as one game because, let's face it, they're all much of a muchness.
Pretty awsome sounding. What system were they?
Playstation 2! :O

And "Prinnies" say "dood" because? And I need a picture of said "Prinnies".
Because it's what they do, dood!
Anyway, Prinnies (http://www.rpgland.com/anime/disgaea/disgaeaanime14.JPG)!

Oh, they're evil too. Nice.
QuizMaster
07-19-2008, 08:33 PM
Well....yeah. You see (and I'm pretty sure this is not spoiler territory), Prinnies are the reincarnated sinners of the human world. Essentially, to make up for your sins after you die, you become a Prinny and serve in the Demonworld*. Oh, it's punishment, all right.
*Netherworld? I can't remember.
Netherworld. Some of them get to serve their time in Celestia, far more cushy.
Catbert
07-20-2008, 01:23 AM
And how long do said Prinnies serve in said Demon/Netherworld?
Until they can afford to reincarnate.
Catbert
07-20-2008, 02:38 AM
Afford?
Yes, afford.
In Celestia, prinnies mostly act as maids and domestic servants. The good deeds they do there lead to their reincarnation. In the Netherworld, depending on the lord they serve, they can have horrible after-lives doing excessively hard labor for very little pay, often thrown around just for fun. The money they earn in the Netherworld goes towards their reincarnation.
Catbert
07-20-2008, 05:29 AM
So the game takes place in the Netherworld?
Most of it, the storyline anyway. Little excursions into Celestia and the Human world.
All the replayability is inside the Item World though.

Something I should look into getting cheap?
Something you should look into getting even if you have to pay an extortionate amount.

Mind you, now that I think about it, there are also ports on the PSP and DS (if not now, then soon).
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness?
Catbert
07-21-2008, 01:31 AM
 Yea I saw that. I'm thinking a DS one would be more practical for me, but I need to know that it's as good.

Yeah, I'd like to know that myself.
As would I; it'd save me having to buy a PSP.

If those numbers on your chart are interchangable then technically it was RE6.
Well if you want to get that literal, it's 6 become 4, not 4 become 6. Numbers of things never increase when the Cookie Monster's around.

The good kind of blood vessel bursting in your brain or the bad kind of blood vessel bursting in your brain?
