Mass Effect Ending (spoilers)

I've recently become very much addicted to Mass Effect and am pretty good at killing the Geth. I finished it for the first time the other day and I got the ending where the council bites the dust and the humans take over the Citadel.

Which made me feel really, really uneasy.

I got the option to play again and I tried, but I just couldn't be bothered. I don't want to go through hours of dialogue I know just for exp again.

I just think it sucks that after you complete the game, you can't do the missions you didn't do before. You have to start ALL over again!

Grr...

What ending did you have? I heard there were multiple endings...

My first playthrough I was a renegade, so i said **** the Council. My 2nd is a Paragon so I'll save them, the 3rd is still a renegade but we'll see.

Just so you know, your characters will be carried over into Mass Effect 2, and every time you unlock a "mastery" achievement, you can create a new character with the skill it's based off, so you can get a Soldier with one of the "psychic" skills, say.

You mean and Adept skill like Warp or something? That sounds nifty.

That's what I mean indeed. And you can give the classes who aren't as well-versed in weapons special training with snipers or assault rifles after you unlock THOSE achievements.

Killing Geth gets you a shield increase, killing organics gets you a health increase.
Completing 75% of the game gets you a 10% experience increase!
And the Ally achievements for having the same character with you for 75% of the game... they do stuff too, though I'm unsure what since I haven't got those yet.

How do I get my adept to use an assault rifle. He CAN use it, but it keeps saying untrained.

Once you have the Assault Rifle achievement, you need to make a new Adept and grant them the Assault Rifle Training skill.

Sucks, I know. I don't know if there's a way of granting new skills to old characters. You'd assume so, once you begin a new playthrough, but if there is, I've not found it.

I love this game been playing it on the pc recently it is a slight upgrade to the pc one menus are better and movement is smoother, just finished what my 3rd play through now on booth platforms.

My first two plays through were with a solider, my third play through was with a bionic gonna have a go at a 4th play through at some point.

I can never get the ally achievements to work on either xbox or pc on my first two times i used tali and Wrex constantly and yet didn't get them, same thing on my 3rd i used tali all the way through but didn't get the ally achievement. :head:

you ALSo have to do the majority of the game; not just have them during the majority of your run.
That means most of the side quests, planet exploration etc.

Ah that could be letting me down then i've done most of the side missons but not explored the planets or found tags and stuff.

And try not to do any of the early Citadel missions before you're a Spectre either, they seem to count for a lot.

Yeah, I remember when Loop was telling me why I wasn't getting the ally achievements. Damn ambiguity. Dambiguity.

I don't recall what ending I got the first time, but it wasn't that one. I recall at the end though, when you're fighting the last boss, I chose not to save the council ship and called the fleet to attack all in.
