every windows OS is a crusty piece of shiznit that freezes,crashes, spits at you and does another 100 million things under the sun to annoy u, bill gates also sucks and to get friends he has to buy them! winblows is lame I tells ya! lame! lame! lame! change to BeOS or Linux or something :p

Don't know what you lot keep moaning about, i never haver any trouble with windows, when you keep downloading crap and installing it like nemesis you expect to have trouble. when you know what your doing it helps :D

I use Windows 98se and have found it to be stable, (!) reliable, (:rolleyes: ) and very user friendly. My system never crashes and the only time I had a blue screen was when I was deliberately trying to overload it with running apps.
The secret is to have a properly configured setup, bug-free software and sensible, intelligently utilised partitions.
Oh, and to not install anything other than those apps you must have, you mustn't fill the place with crap.
A bit of maintenance is useful, too. (How many of you ever run, from a DOS prompt, < scanreg/fix/opt > ??:(

Windows XP is a load of bloated shyte. There is absolutely no reason to 'upgrade'. I can understand new PC's being supplied with it, but if your apps. run on your current OS, why the heck change? Eh? Everything I wish to use, graphics, audio and games work fine as things are on good old '98se.
The only reason to upgrade is when you finally wish to run software which will only run on XP, which probably won't happen anyway as XP still retains a lot of Win9X, and if it ever is the case, it won't be for at least a couple of years.

Yeh, although I was just reading through it again and noticed I had posted I couldn't get XP to run on my rig, think that was when my keyboard and mouse wouldn't run on XP, fixed that now though and my system is quite damn good.
