Actually, from what I understand, Matrix 2 and Matrix 3 will be shot at the same time. (Back to the Future 2 and 3, and I believe all 3 parts of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy were done this way). Parts 2 and 3 are supposed to be released close to a month a part and I think that they will run the same as the Star Wars Trilogy (ie - Part 2 comes first, followed by Part 1, followed by Part 3.) That means that Part 2 will show where Morpheus and Co came from, etc, and 3 will show how it ends (or doesn't for that matter.)

Jet Li did want in the movies, but they decided against him. Not sure why. He would have made a cool addition.

Matrix 2 has been put back from Christmas 2002 to some time in 2003. It may or may not have something to do with the death of one of its stars, Aaliyah, whose contribution to the film seems uncertain - both the directors and the producer give differing accounts of her what her current and/or future involvements would have been..... (had she not been killed in a plane crash)

It is really called "The Matrix Reloaded". It will be released in 2003 (was to improve quality)

It will star Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Laurence Fishburne.

OK, this is all i know on the subject.

Aaliyah was a love interest for Morpheus.
The unexpected death has set the shooting back from 2002 to 2003. Keanu is still in it, Carrie Anne Moss is still in it and Laurence Fishburne is still in it. Jet Li was going to be in it, but they changed the storyline for a female character (hence aaliyah got the part), so dont know whats happening with that. The opening scene is at Zion (the place where all the real humans live) and you see Neo beating the crap out of some agent bloke, using kung-fu and a bit where he flies (yes, neo does fly quite a bit in this film) and kills him.

So all in all, it should be as fun to watch like the first, only problem is that most of the new action films use bullet-time or something close to it.
So hopefully they can do another filmbreaking experience.

Jason Stratham, plays 'Bacon' In Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and plays 'Turkish' in Snatch. It also stars Delroy Lindo, Aaliyah's dad in Romeo Must Die. Lindo and Stratham chase Jet Li through the dimensions.
