give a quick review of any recent albums you've got here, simple things like- what type of music the band play, who might like it, better/worse than previous albums by that artist, marks out of 10 etc...
Recent ones I'Ve bought -
CREED - Weathered
Not a giant leap from Human clay, and maybe not as immediate, but preservence reveals a pretty good rock album.
Maybe not for those into Nu-Metal or heavy metal, but anyone who liked bands such as Stone temple pilots,Pearl jam or Alice in chains should check this, or one of their other albums out(My own Prison, Human clay) 'My sacrifice' is the first single (used by some wrestlers as theme song...ugh) Good album all round, if you like or liked grunge/soft rock you may enjoy this
8/10
Puddle of Mudd -
from the same stable as staind, and produced by fred durst.
Again similar in style to STP, livelier and pack a bit more of a punch than staind. Some strange lyrics on there "I like the way you spank my ass!"
or the humurous "she f*ckin hates me" chorus on one song,
best track - 'Blurry' down tempo, catchy melodic rock, or 'Never change' which totally rips off the intro to 'Come as you are'
Some other tracks are a wee bit samey though, but above average 7/10
Singles:
Cypress Hill - Lowdown & Trouble
Nice to see them back, double A side cd, one version has the clean Lowdown/explicit Trouble and vice-versa, lowdown is funky and fresh, humorous nasal rapping and phat beat'n'bassline, Trouble starts with moody guitars into an upbeat rap then Metal chorus with big angry guitars....cool ;)
also featured on the cd is 'Rock Superstar' from skull and bones bonus cd
8/10 ...can't wait for the album.
