I think people are going over the top with Harry Potter, this my opinion on what happened:
they brought out books....ok
they bring out a movie....ok
they bring out a Harry Potter game....Pushing it
they bring out Harry Potter everything and people pay ridiculous prices for them....they've gone too far now! :D

The SFX were good, but they could've made it either

a) Shorter, so the kids don't get bored!

b) more adult. Maybe use Teenagers etc...

I think it's clever marketing. The hype has extended across at least 4 years, culminating in the situation we have today, i.e. Harry bleedin' Potter toys at the local supermarket, and a multi-million quid film that all the kidz want to see 'coz all their friends have/will be seeing it.
I suppose it proves yet again what a load of sheep the general public really are.
-- As for the film itself, I somehow seem to have avoided having to endure it, but in all fairness i believe more effort has been put into it than Pokemon for example, so credit where it is due.....:rolleyes:
