Default Mark Rein (developer of Unreal)

haha this gave me a good laugh Mark Rein vice president of Epic Games the developer of Unreal made his views clear on the rev controller and his rivals.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=12577

I like this guy he's honest with his opinions that's pretty rare in the gaming world good on him.

I watched it and the only thing I thought afterwards was "wow that guy is a real idiot, I hope there aren't many people as small minded as him in the game industry"

Read it yesterday. I myself dont see why people like the Revolution controller right now. The vid Nintendo did with teh controller, you see people just moving it around. You don't see them playing anything. You hear sounds they put in and such.

More buttons = more interaction and easier actions.

Well it had more interaction didn't it. that's an extreme case of the top though the game is pretty fun to play unless you forget to eject and your game data gets deleted.

I totaly agree on that part...people shouldnt be amazed of anything untill they see the real thing...but also note, most madia and game developers will say that nintendo does make the best game controlers on the markt as a given fact...so things with revo can be very good.

lol...as for mark,he is a smart man and he got hes points...lol he even agress with my opinion on the xbox:""It works just fine for playing games, and it works fine for first-person shooter games, as evidenced by the fact that they sold more first-person shooters on consoles than anybody's ever sold on PCs.""
hahaha ofcourse xbox sells more...its a FPS/PC hybrid...

but he is a total ass if he thinks that a console is selling cuse of FPS,most console owners dont love FPS games, and only HALO is a big time seller...
and hes got an attitude of:"FPS are the best"...its RPG that sell consoles...FF,DQ,Zelda,and beat em ups:soul calibure/doa/tekken are the true big time sellers....and whats that?most are japan developers...so he should get out of the "west companies" attitude and look at a console the way it is...A CONSOLE and not to massure everything by FPS.

RPG games and advanture games are the real big sellers that will sell a console...
to prove my point ill say this:take DOOM3 and Far Cry inst and HALO 2 in sells(HALO more than 6.4M units...)and you may get close on what FF X sold on playstation.
Also Dragon warrior sold more than 5M in japan, and Halo 2 which is an AMZING game...sold just 6.4M...
Now go to the Madias and youll see after HALO2 the most populer and actully best game after it,is an advanture game called Ninja Gaiden(also one of the best games ever)...

Mark should have notice that, before just bowing to 360 and getting down on PS3...with all due respacet there isnt 1 FPS game besides HALO that sold in the Big M...even orignal doom never sold more than an RPG or advanture game.

and i do agree on hes mark when he said 360 as the best controller for FPS...than again a keyboard is always a better option cuse as a pc gamer also...nothing beats the FPS true home...PC.

Be honest it depends on what part of the world you are in RPG are console sellers in Japan with DW selling 5 Million but it'll be lucky to sell 500,000 in the rest of the world conbined out of Final Fantasy and The Legend Of Zelda RPG's aren't that bigger sellers in the west apart from the American type RPG's.

FPS's are what sold the XBox to 18 million people (mostly) they sell very well in the west the likes of Halo, Doom, Quake, Half Life 2 etc. Though as you said Ninja Gaiden, Dead Or alive sell well so do the FPS'

thats what i said...in the west it sells not bad(FPS refering)but, they dont sell alot...on consoles...doom 3 and far cry for xbox didnt become a smash hit...only HALO did.

and 18M is a console that didnt have a sucsess,and 6.4 Halo 2 buyers...still isnt 18M.
Ninja gaiden wasnt far behind Halo sells...and thats what the xbox360 needs to be a major seller.

MS needs to understand that not all players love FPS.

in short:

XBOX360 NEEDS MORE ORIGNAL AND MORE variety FROM ITS GAME library.
how can a system have more than 60% of its games an FPS.why not bring more high Q games like ninja gaiden?its an amazing game that tops many PS2 games...team ninja in my opinion are the best 3rd partie and only major 3rd partie to have strong supporet on the xbox and 360...

think what we as gamers will get if more 3rd parties supporet the x360,maybe from a gray seller(even if it is a good system)to a mega seller system.thats what i expacet from MS to do on 360,and so far i see a xbox redone...xbox games that just have better graphics....whats wrong than to be more orignal.
