Lo all, I've been playing this for about a week and i gotta say....Its some of the best fun i've had on the GC (if i dont count Res 4)
I love the battle system and the animation on mario and co is really good.
Anyone else got this, and if so what ya think?
It took me two weeks to complete it as well, I reckon.
It's an incredible game. Enjoyable battle system, fun story... and I have to say it was pretty nice to see that the "paper theme" was used to its fullest.
I love this game! The 100 enemies thing is a bit crap coz you can't save but everything about it is delightful. I love that pirate bomb who obviously looks too old and fragile and is still quite content at exploding every so often. Yeay cruelty!
I loved the final boss! Man I'd love to talk about it but I don't want to ruin it. Even though the ending was predictable enough, I actually found myself rooting for the victim (which I've never done before with any Mario game).
How many stars were there? 7? Lemme see if I can remember where each of them comes from.
*Oh, the SPOILERS haven't started yet*
0) Peach purchases the map from a guy in Rogueport. The map came from a chest which only somebody with a pure heart could open. She mails the map to Mario and disappears. When Mario arrives at Rogueport, he meets a Goomba, Goombette? Goombella?
1) The first star was in a big dragon, Hooktail. Along the way, you meet a Koopa, Koops.
2) The second star was in a big tree with a bunch of Punis in them. Along the way, you meet a wind spirit, Flurrie?
3) The third star was first thought to be on Hawk's (Hawk Rawk?) heavyweight champion wrestling belt. But instead, the real star was used by the wrestling league manager who was using it to steal strength from fighters who were mysteriously disappearing. Along the way, you meet a Yoshi which you name yourself. To him, Mario is the Great Gonzales.
4) The fourth star is in Twilight Town, a town where the villagers are turning into pigs. The curse is broken when Mario defeats a Ghost whose name he keeps a secret. Along the way, one of the siren sisters, Vivian, joins Mario's party.
5) The fifth star is on an island, within a ghost pirate's treasure. Mario needs a Bob-omb captain's help along the way.
6) The sixth star requires a long train ride to find it. There's a mystery involved. The detective mistakes Mario for Luigi.
7) The seventh star...is on the moon! By now, you could have Ms. Mowz in your party.
in the pit of 100 trials i got to 80 somthin and died
same, ticked me off...
but overall a very nice game, great improvement from the first. only thing that really ticked me off is that my R button doesn't work so well, so the yoshi is kinda useless for me, and i'm too lazy to go buy another controller
